Yellow or Purple?

Today Luke and I were laying in bed looking at his rainbow alphabet caterpillar (or is he a centipede?), and I was pointing to the colors asking Luke which was his favorite. He was gabbing at all the colors equally, so finally I let him hold the caterpillar himself so he could show me which was his favorite. Luke immediately grabbed onto two purple legs and shouted “All-o”, which I translated as “yellow”. I was so confused. He had grabbed the purple legs and said “yellow”. So I took the caterpillar in my own hands and said, “No, those are purple legs. If you like yellow, you grab these legs,” and pointed to the yellow feet.

Once again I handed the caterpillar to Luke. Once again he grabbed the purple legs in both hands and said, “All-o”. He’s so convinced that those feet are yellow that I’m beginning to wonder if I’M the one making a mistake. Maybe those legs are yellow after all. Maybe I’m just going crazy or I’m color blind. I’ll have to consult Derek when he gets home.

  4. Hah! He might just as well be right. There you've been for oodles of years, totally confused. You have your teachers to blame for this and Luke to thank for enlightening you. Are you sure he's still young and in diapers?
