Signs of Development

These pictures are to show you the garland in our kitchen. I love sitting in the living room at night with only the Christmas tree and the garland lights on. This morning Luke sat and looked at the tree for the first time! He hasn't really been interested in it up until now.

Last night I noticed that Luke has graduated from some of his simple toys to more complex toys. He used to love the yellow and purple circle on his exersaucer. He would chew on it and shout at it all day with barely a glance at the other toys. Then for a while he was fascinated by the tall toy with the beads in it that rattle around at eye level and it kind of looks like alien antennae. Now Luke's love is devoted to the green and blue toy that is a little harder to reach, and a little harder to work. When you spin it (which is a challenge for him because it's stiff) it snaps as it turns. It's also got beads that move up and down on the side.

He is definitely growing up. Celeste said yesterday that she can see where a tooth is coming in! I look and look and am not quite sure I know what she's looking at, but I believe her. That would be a good excuse for all these sleepless nights.

  1. Sitting in a the room with only the christmas tree lights and garland is also one of my favorite things. How fun that he's paying attention to new things. And I hope if he's teething that it's a bit easier on the sleep schedule. r

  3. Oh the lights are just the best part of the evening. I wish I could come over, just sit beside you and not say anything but just look at those lights.

And Mr. Luke, kudos for you for moving on to the other toys. It's hard to say see ya, but they have to understand....they were only meant for babies.

  4. That's a cute wrinkly bum! That's ok, he'll like the pictures when he's older. Everybody has naked pictures of themself. I think the blog will be really nice for him when he gets older, to see what you wrote about him everyday.
