It's enough to make you want a cat

I am not a cat person. They are hairy and they don't chase a ball or get excited when you come home. They don't smile at you like dogs do, and they don't do as many tricks. I am however, what's that phrase Derek used? oh yes, "a softy". And Punkin, as I named him (a dig at all cats everywhere because I hate liking a cat), has been spending a few minutes each morning hanging out in the house where Luke can pet him. Punkin has gotten quite attached to us, I think. And Luke is getting attached to Punkin. The cat comes in and sits by the door on the rug and lets Luke pet him and pull his tail. Luke shouts, "Cat!" over and over again, and when Punkin tries to rub up against Luke's legs Luke is too happy to stay in one spot and he runs to me or the couch and buries his smiling face in my lap or the cushions.

Punkin is sort of a neighborhood cat. I don't really know who he belongs to. I've seen him around a couple different homes, but this week he is frequenting our back door. I would never choose to get a cat...except that someday Luke might. And for now it looks like Punkin has chosen us for his morning visits.
Kathy, you got it right! Give Carl a pat on the back for that one.

"'Em are ducks"
"'Em are not"
"Yes, 'em are. See 'em wings?"
"Why I be! 'Em are ducks!"

  2. Oh, those orange tabby cats have a way into the most closed cat person ever. Beware!!! One snuck into my heart and like Chagas, I'll never get him out!
