Business as usual

Well folks, several months ago I began the long, agonizing process of renaming my business. I consulted with consulters, perused proposals, sat with syllables, absorbed alleged allegory, and finally, I think, I have decided on a descriptively delightful name. Nothing's set in stone, especially since I haven't checked the business registration to make sure this name (or something similar) is not taken. However, my heavy heart is now heartily harumping at the thought of this naturally nesty new name and I have even gone so far as to design myself a new logo. I hope you like it because I'm pretty attached to it already and so much emotional energy has gone into choosing this name that if you criticize at this point I might just cry. I actually feel pretty brilliant for being able to get a tree that I like down on paper. I asked my friend to design me a new logo but she couldn't do it right now and I was so sad. I said to Derek, "There's nobody else who can make what I want! What am I going to do now?" And Derek said, "If you know what you want why don't you just do it yourself?" and I thought. hm. And while Luke slept this afternoon, this is what I came up with. A pencil sketch, photographed, posterized, painted and tweaked. I'm pretty proud of myself.

Luke likes the new name, too. His new fun game is to hit the exercise ball around with a plastic spoon. He told me this morning that he was playing "Luke's soccer" and said, "Please don't interrupt me while I hit the ball, Mama." Where does he come up with this stuff? The earth is just superimposed on the ball because I was having too much fun editing. Somebody better stop me! He's got the whole world in his hands.....
