will it ever end?

I am at my wits end with this little guy. The screaming, which you may have laughed at during the video last week, has escalated to the point that if I caught you laughing at it I might just throw you in a lake of hungry crocodiles.

I am forever exhausted and "Patience" is a town I whizzed by 75 miles ago. What do you do? Do you give time outs? Do you spank or swat? Do you ignore it (Just try, I'd like to see you try)? Having a conversation with a one year old about being polite and not driving your mother up the wall is as ridiculous as trying to teach a horse to sing opera.

If you have advice, book recommendations, or prayers for a desperate mother please pass them my way.

  1. Gosh, what a hard row to hoe. I feel for you as I remember difficult times with Joel. Anyways, prayers...ALWAYS and advice....well, hmmmm....Is he screaming because he's upset? If he is, then you have to figure out why.

Is he screaming to get a reaction? Then give him none. Walk out of the room. If he follows you and keeps screaming, maybe setting him on a chair. If he gets off, still screaming, set him back. This one might get quite wearisome as you only let him off once he's quiet. Maybe only try this with back-up. Spanking might only increase the volume of screaming and the frustration level. I have heard of using frigid cold water to stop hysterics. Or a freezing cold shower or plunge into the bath, clothes and all. I think we did that with Kezia, only once when she was 18 months.

    Or send him to grandmas.
    And then come to Bolivia.
