Here is a song that Luke wrote to the tune of the Johnny Appleseed Prayer. For those of you who don’t know it, the original words are:
Oh the Lord is good to me,
And so I thank the Lord
For giving me the things I need
The sun and the rain and the appleseed
The Lord is good to me.
Luke’s words are:
Oh my Mom is good to me,
And so I thank my Mom
For giving me the things I need
The food and the bath and the cleaned up pee
My Mom is good to me.
Hopefully this will give Mr. Esquivel something new to sing besides “You ain’t nothin but a baby”(feel free to substitute “mom” with “dad”)
The news: Yesterday Luke laughed. He has laughed before, but yesterday it was a long belly laugh. I was so pleased to hear his voice make such a pleasant sound that I couldn’t bring myself to leave him even for the second it would take to get the camera. He started laughing because I was laughing at him laying on his back on the floor blowing bubbles. One of the big bubbles popped and he jumped, surprised. I laughed out loud! When he started laughing I laughed even more, and he was laughing because I was laughing because he was laughing. I was so surprised to hear Luke’s laugh. It was high-pitched, gaspy and bubbly. It was a lovely baby laugh and it was adorable how his belly actually went in and out with each laugh. As soon as I can I will capture that on video and pass it along!
To talk about similarities. . . you sound like our Mom :). With your cute songs! I love you and I look forward to the laughter being captured on film!
